The township’s ninth annual car cruise is set to take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, at the Adams Township Community Park, 690 Valencia Road.

Around 200 cars were at the last two events, Brian Perry, the township’s parks and recreation director, said. He said he expects a similar turnout at this year’s event.

This year, funds raised from the event’s raffle will go toward Rocket Fuel Cafe, a student-run program at Mars Area High School. In the previous few years, the beneficiaries have been students or staff members of Mars Area School District, Perry said.

The township is in the process of raising funds from local families and organizations, and will accept donation baskets until Friday, Sept. 11. More information about donating or volunteering for the event can be found on the township website or social media channels.

Information about the potential merger between Adams Township and Mars, which will be on the ballot in the November election, will also be available at a booth during the event, Mike Tylka, Adams Township manager, said.
