‘BUTLER’ feature film hiring for background roles
A feature film about the July 13, 2024, assassination attempt of then-presidential candidate President Donald Trump is looking for paid extras with no experience necessary.
“BUTLER,” a thriller based on the New York Times Bestseller by Washington Examiner reporter Salena Zito, will be filmed primarily in Beaver County from Sept. 14 to Oct. 23.
The story follows a seasoned journalist covering a political rally when she finds herself “in the crosshairs of a national crisis” when the assassination attempt forces her to navigate “media sensationalism, personal ethics and the entrenched political divide uprooting the nation,” according to Nancy Mosser Casting, based in Lawrenceville.
The film is co-written and directed by R.J. Daniel Hanna and produced by Pensé Productions, based in Pittsburgh and Los Angeles.
Casting is looking for people 18 and older to play rally attendees, event security, staff, vendors, law enforcement and press. People who only have a day or two of availability and those who will be available for the majority of the shoot are welcome to apply, according to the agency.
The positions pay $225 for a 12-hour guarantee. Shooting days will last 12-14 hours, and overtime will be allotted after 12 hours. There will be no filming on weekends. Shoots will be mostly outdoors.
The movie is based on Zito’s book, where she says she interviewed Trump at the Butler Farm Show rally and spoke with him and his team several times after.
