Takers of the upcoming Walldogs Mural Tour will hear about the creation of murals throughout Butler from some of the people who made them.

The Butler County Historical Society’s 10th anniversary of the Butler Brush-Up event features a guided walking tour of the Walldogs murals, and aims to explain the significance and history of the murals seen around the city.

The murals were created by the Walldogs, a group of volunteer artists who go to different communities and paint culturally significant murals for those communities. According to Mackenzie Herold, executive director of the historical society, the tour’s goal is to educate the community — especially those new to the area — about the murals.

Tours will take place at 1 and 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19. Tickets are $10 per person and free to children 12 and under. Each tour will last about an hour-and-a-half and cover about 1 mile in distance.
