It is with heavy hearts we announce that our beloved brother and uncle, Walter A. Stanford Jr., 92, of Butler, departed this world on Monday, Aug. 31, 2026.

Walter was born in Sharon on Aug. 31, 1934, the son of the late Walter A. and Mary (Kukosh) Stanford.

Walter honorably served in the U.S. Navy. He worked for LV Steel and Washington Manor as an administrator. He was known for being a big sports fan and an animal lover.

Walter is survived by his two sisters, Ginger (John) Wolfe and Faye (Larry) Keehn. He is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, Walter was preceded in death by his sisters, Barbara and Beverly; and his brothers, Charles and Steven.

STANFORD — All services for Walter A. Stanford Jr., who died Monday, Aug. 31, 2026, will be held privately through SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler.
