Butler County is using a new firm to finish filtering through seven years of sheriff's records to identify who gets $2 million in funds.

The county commissioners today hired certified public accountant Lynn Beck to finish the job at a rate of $70 an hour.

Bill O'Donnell, chief county clerk, said the switch was done to save money.

Grossman, Yanak & Ford of Pittsburgh was being paid $95 an hour to sift through records from 2003 to 2009.
