Slippery Rock girls volleyball beats Wilmington in comeback fashion: Highlights & scores

Slippery Rock girls volleyball rallied from a two-set deficit to down host Wilmington 3-2 Monday.

Lexi Caldwell had 30 assists and 10 digs while teammate Savannah Smith dropped 10 kills in the victory, which was earned by scores of 23-25, 22-25, 25-14, 26-24 and 21-19.

Gia Kovacik contributed seven kills and five aces, Lyla Runtas 24 digs and Kasey Yeager seven kills.

North Hills 3, Butler 1 — The Golden Tornado fell despite an incredible effort from Raina Lewandowski.

The senior tallied 28 kills and 25 digs in a 19-25, 18-25, 27-25, 17-25 loss.

Sophia Slaugenhoup added five kills, Eva Stutz 16 digs and Campbell Clouse 19 assists for Butler.

A-C Valley 3, Titusville 1 — Lexi Altman served up three aces and dished out 21 assists in leading the Falcons.

Jaclynn Dehart added 11 kills and two blocks for A-C Valley, which won by scores of 29-31, 25-23, 25-23 and 27-25. Gianna Louise and Arianna Adams both dropped nine kills in the win.

Girls soccer

Claire Tully scored on a penalty kick with just over three minutes left in the game, and Knoch salvaged a 2-2 tie with visiting Central Valley.

The Knights trailed 2-0 before Brooklyn Wise found the net following a corner kick.

Freeport 12, Valley 0 — Cece Schlegel scored twice for the ’Jackets, who received single goals from 10 other players.

Maggie Conger scored once and assisted on two other scores. Sophia Crawford and Aurora Mazur combined for the shutout in net.

Girls golf

Mars earned a 187-196 victory over North Allegheny at Suncrest Golf Course.

Elise Wadas led the way with a 40. Teammates Emily Tillapaugh (47), Delaney DiCuccio (48) and Reagan Dunn (52) also scored in the win.

KSAC Mega Match — Thanks to a 45 by Hayden Hilliard and 49s from Cailyn O’Brien, Juliette Brown and Gabriella Shearer, Moniteau took first place at Hi-Level Golf Course.

The Warriors finished with a 143 as a team, while A-C Valley placed third with a 156. Kennedy Kinney carded a 47 for the Falcons.

Boys golf

Josh Marquardt and Lucas Barber both fired a 39 as the Raiders downed Beaver 200-219 at Seven Oaks Country Club.

North Allegheny 183, Butler 189 — At Slippery Rock Golf Club, the Golden Tornado (6-2, 2-2) received a 36 from Levi McClellan and a pair of 37s courtesy of Karsten Lenyk and Eli Snyder.

NA featured three golfers coming in with a 35 — Hayden Park, Jake Hendrick and Roman Habib.

Riverview 190, Freeport 201 — Max Zigo shot an even-par 36 for the Yellowjackets (5-2, 3-2) on the back nine at Buffalo Golf Course. Liam McKivigan added a 39.

Riverview managed five players who carded sub-40 scores, paced by Ian Stempher’s 36.
