I-80 eastbound was closed after W. Pa. fuel spill

BROOKVILLE — A three-mile stretch of eastbound Interstate 80 closed after a fuel spill caused by a crash in Western Pennsylvania.

State police have yet to release details of the crash that was reported shortly after 6 a.m. today. But PennDOT spokeswoman Deborah Casadei says the crash involved a single tractor-trailer.

The spill has closed the eastbound lanes between Exit 78 at Brookville and Exit 81 at Hazen. The fuel spill occurred near the Brookville exit.

A detour was posted and the lanes were expected to remain closed until about noon.
