BUTLER TWP Police are searching for a dark gray or black pickup truck that struck a 9-year-old boy who chased a ball into the street this morning at the school bus stop on Bessemer Avenue at Lehigh Street, where he and some friends were playing while waiting for their ride.

The truck’s driver, who drove off without stopping, is described as white, in his 50s with salt and pepper hair and beard, and wearing glasses.

The boy reportedly suffered a broken leg and an ankle injury. He was flown to a Pittsburgh hospital.
