Amanda Switzer Montgomery, 36, of Eau Claire, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, Aug. 27, 2026.

Amanda was born Aug. 28, 1989, at Butler Memorial Hospital to Darrell and Linda (Peters) Switzer. Amanda was also loved dearly by her mother and father-in-law, Kim (Bowser) Montgomery and Don Montgomery. She was a 2008 graduate of Moniteau High School. It was in high school where she met her high school sweetheart and love of her life, her husband, Frank Montgomery. Amanda considers Frank her BEAST and he considers her his BEAUTY. Together, they have four daughters, Myah, Maci, Mali and Madi, whom they are so proud of and adore.

Amanda cherished time with her family; enjoying kayaking, hunting, fishing, boating and being a passenger princess on their motorcycle. She cheered her girls on at cheerleading events and competitions, softball games, basketball games, and dance competitions. She impacted many in the Moniteau community as a youth cheerleading and youth basketball coach. Amanda was a beautiful person who is adored and loved by those who knew her. She touched many lives and was a role model as a coach of young cheerleaders and athletes. She was employed at Slippery Rock University. Previously, she worked at Family Bowlaway and was a loving caregiver for Wayne Gilmore.

Other surviving family members include: a sister, Emily Switzer; three brothers, Joe Switzer, Heath Schreffler (Katelyn) and Chris (Hayley) Switzer; two brothers-in-law, Dillon (Kayla) Montgomery and DJ Montgomery (Rita); nephews, Finley Switzer, Collin Haney, and Blake and Bryce Schreffler (their mother Karen); nieces, Paisley and Brinley Montgomery; her loving grandparents, Sue and Jim Claypoole and Lois and Don Eury; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Bill and Lois Switzer and Carl and Margaret Peters.

MONTGOMERY — Visitation for Amanda Switzer Montgomery, who died Thursday, Aug. 27, 2026, will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday Sept. 3, at WILLIAM F. YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 132 Main St., West Sunbury.

Private funeral services for family and close friends will be held Friday, Sept. 4, with pastors from Six Points Church of God officiating.

Burial will follow at North Washington Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the funeral home for expenses.
