SRU's Zuzack sets school swim marks

Slippery Rock University sophomore sprinter Jen Zuzack set a pair of school records Saturday at the NCAA Division II Swimming and Diving Championships.

Zuzack finished the 200-yard backstroke in 2:08, good for 12th place and All-America honors. The time broke her own school record set at the PSAC Championships Feb. 22 (2:08.89).

She also garnered All-America status by placing 28th in the 100 freestyle at 53.54 seconds, breaking Vicki Wilson's standard of 53.88 seconds set last season.

The Slippery Rock University baseball team closed out its spring trip to Florida by splitting a doubleheader Saturday.Following a 5-2 loss to Ashland College to begin the day, The Rock (11-7) rebounded with a 13-7 win over UMass-Lowell.Ben Marzullo tallied three hits while Matt Kozusko and Knoch High School grad Chase Rowe both smacked a home run in support of winning pitcher Nick Armstrong, who lasted 4innings.Sophomore Derek Blyzwick shouldered the loss against Ashland.

The Slippery Rock University women's water polo team lost two games Saturday: a 17-4 decision to George Washington and a 9-2 setback to Gannon. No other stats were available.
