Saxonburg revokes officer's suspension
SAXONBURG — Borough council Wednesday revoked the suspension of a part-time police officer.
The borough also will pay any wages that Bryan Costanzo lost and expunge the suspension from his record.
Mayor Jody Pflueger on Feb. 2 suspended Costanzo for allegedly not following the chain of command and spreading rumors.
The suspension was lifted Feb. 8, but remained on his record until Wednesday.
Before council voted after 11 p.m. to expunge Costanzo’s record, it held a lengthy executive session.
Council discussed how he could sue the borough for damages. Borough solicitor Tom May confirmed a lawsuit could have occurred if no action had been taken.
“It’s always a possibility,” he said.
