Jason Curry and Matt Kozusko collected four hits each to lead the Slippery Rock University baseball team to a 13-11 road win over Mansfield Monday.

In the nightcap, Mansfield outslugged The Rock 18-12.

In the first game, Curry tallied three singles and a home run to go with four RBI. Kozusko smacked four singles.

Adam Ritts picked up the win, surrendering three runs on seven hits in 3

innings after relieving starter Colin Scott.

Knoch graduate Chase Rowe added a double and two runs scored, while Seneca Valley product Nathan Statzer had three hits, including a home run, for The Rock (27-19).

In the second game, Statzer, Rowe and Ben Marzullo each homered, while Marzullo and Curry had three RBI each.

Slippery Rock University junior Kristen Jones won the 100 meters with a season-best time of 12.30 seconds at the SRU Open meet over the weekend.Jones also won the women's long jump with a leap of 18 feet, 7¼ inches. She ran the anchor leg of the winning 1,600 relay and placed second in the 200 meters.Other female SRU winners included Holly Whoolery, who ran the 3,000 meters in 1:54.71, and Andi Rose, who ran the 100-meter hurdles in 14.41 and the 400-meter hurdles in 1:04.05.In throwing events, Heather Kozuchowsky won the shot put with a throw of 41-9¾. Karen McCready won the javelin with a throw of 148-1½.Kristen Jordan won the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 12:01.87 and sophomore Louise O'Rourke won the high jump with a jump of 5-4.On the men's side, Ben Steingrabe won the 100-meter hurdles in 14.39. Derrell McBroom won the 400-meter hurdles in 54.41.The Rock men won the 400-meter relay in 41.92. Unattached athlete Mark Bridge won the javelin with an Olympic trial qualifying mark of 241-3.
