Lewis Gilliland

Lewis H. Gilliland, 82, of Butler, passed away Friday, Sept. 24, 2021, at his residence.

Born Dec. 15, 1938, in Prospect, he was a son of the late Carl and Mildred (Cunningham) Gilliland.

He worked at Pullman Standard in the crane maintenance department, he then retired when the company closed.

He was a member of North Street Christian Church. Lou enjoyed wrestling, racing and old automobiles.

Surviving is his daughter, Linda Moculski of Hooker; his son, Tim Gilliland of Butler; five stepchildren, Glenn (Dianna) Baptiste Jr. of Mercer, Richard Baptiste, Cindy (Randall) Booher, Barb Christofano and Jeffrey Baptiste, all of Butler; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Carl (Bud) Gilliland and Donald (Sandy) Gilliland.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rose M. Gilliland who passed away March 20, 2018, they were married June 25, 1984; two brothers, Gilmore Gilliland and Kenneth (June) Gilliland; and his sister, Elsie (Edward) Kooser.

Gilliland — Friends of Lewis H. Gilliland, who died Friday, Sept. 24, 2021, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 East Cunningham St., Butler.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary Cemetery in Herman.
