Patricia J. Weir, 95, of Butler, passed away in the comfort of her home on Friday, Aug. 28, 2026.

She was born on June 12, 1931, in Butler, daughter of the late John Mahalik and Julia (Swartz) Mahalik.

Patricia was a member of Unionville United Presbyterian Church, the Unionville Grange No. 1971 (Butler County Pomona Grange), Order of the Eastern Star No. 45, Lorraine Commandery Auxiliary, Early Birds Bowling League and was an avid quilter.

She is survived by her son, Dr. Howard “Jay” Weir Jr. and his wife Sarah “Sally,” of Canfield, Ohio; four grandchildren, Leslie, Eric and Jocelyn (Mike) Shockley and Hilary (Tim) Miller; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard J. Weir Sr., whom she married Nov. 24, 1949, and who passed away Feb. 11, 2024; her daughter, Patricia “Joyce” Dobson; and her brother, Arthur Mahalik.

WEIR — All services for Patricia J. Weir, who died Friday, Aug. 28, 2026, will be held privately per family wishes.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Unionville United Presbyterian Church, at 1114 Sunset Drive, Butler, PA 16001.

Patricia will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Burial Estates.

Arrangements have been entrusted to THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler.
