PITTSBURGH — A Negro League star from Pittsburgh is the latest to receive a grave marker from a man dedicated to honoring the memory of those who played in that era.

Ted Page’s grave was marked Saturday. He played for both of the league’s Pittsburgh-area teams in the 1930s, the Pittsburgh Crawfords and the Homestead Grays.

Saturday’s ceremony was made possible by Jeremy Krock, an anesthesiologist from Peoria, Ill. who organized the Negro Leagues Baseball Grave Marker Project in 2004.
