James ‘Jim’ Hollobaugh

Hollobaugh

James “Jim” J. Hollobaugh, 88, of Cabot, passed away into the presence of the Lord on Saturday, Aug. 22, 2026, at Allegheny General Hospital.

Born June 3, 1938, in Cowansville, Pa., Jim was the son of the late James C. Hollobaugh and Ellen M. Jordan Hollobaugh.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army for more than four years. He went on to work as a motor inspector for U.S. Steel’s sintering plant until its closing and later completed his career as an electrician.

Jim was a member of GraceWay Community Church, where he enjoyed serving others and spending time in fellowship. He shared a lifelong love of hunting and fishing with his son and father and proudly bagged his last deer at age 87. Jim was also a competitive softball player, known for his speed and agility — traits he joyfully shared with his daughters. He cherished his annual family vacations to the Outer Banks and the memories made there with those he loved.

Jim was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 60 years, Carol Ann Mourer Hollobaugh, whom he married May 6, 1967. His living legacy also includes his three children, Jayne Ellen (James) Charlton, of Cape Coral, Fla., Sherri Lynn (Daniel Boyadich) Hollobaugh, of Winter Haven, Fla., and James Michael Hollobaugh, of Cabot.

Additionally, he is survived by his brother, Robert (Sara) Hollobaugh, of Butler; six grandchildren, Tatia (Andrew) Williams, Cassandra Hollobaugh, Jadalyn Hollobaugh, Noah Al-Shemmari, Savannah Charlton and Colby Charlton; two great-grandchildren, Jonah Hollobaugh and Macallan Williams; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Ronald, Edward, Blair and Delmar Hollobaugh; and his sister, Shirley Brougher Hollobaugh (Ken).
