Butler girls tennis downs Knoch, 4-1: Roundup
Butler girls tennis opened the 2026 season with a 4-1 victory Tuesday afternoon at Knoch.
Winning for the Golden Tornado in singles play were Lindsay Lipp and Noel Ernst.
Doubles teams of Devan Christofano/Cassie Sklencar and Raegan Conaway/Brooke Loomis also earned victories.
Knoch’s one victory came from Alana Moroney at No. 1 singles.

Jackson Kane fired a 1-over-par 37 in Freeport’s 202-237 victory against Highlands at Buffalo Golf Course.
Gavin Tola added a round of 39 for the Yellowjackets (3-1, 2-1).
Butler 195, Central Valley 226 — The Golden Tornado (6-1, 2-1) received a 35 from Drew Cuny and a 36 from Levi McClellan at Slippery Rock Golf Club.
KSAC Mega Match No. 4 — A-C Valley/Union’s Joe Rapp carded a 35 to finish in a three-way tie for first place at Bostonia Country Club near New Bethlehem.
Keystone’s Sean Karg and Redbank Valley’s Nico Rex also earned a share of medalist honors.
Karns City and Moniteau also had strong showings. The Gremlins featured Liam Hobaugh’s 36 and a 38 from Cade Ritzert.
Isaac Book carded a 37 for the Warriors and Brennan Kelly a 38.
Moniteau (156 strokes) finished just one stroke behind Keystone for team bragging rights. A-C Valley/Union (172) was fourth and Karns City (175) finished fifth out of 11 teams.
Hayden Hilliard’s 49 and Kennedy Sullivan’s 53 helped Moniteau to a second-place finish in a five-team match at Foxburg Country Club on Tuesday.
Moniteau turned in a 159 as a team, while Brookville beat it by one stroke. Kennedy Kinney and Samantha Cuprinka both carded a 56 for fourth-place A-C Valley.
