Independence Health System and AHN honored for supporting organ donations
Independence Health System and Allegheny Health Network have received statewide recognition for efforts to support organ, eye and tissue donation.
The health systems are among the top-performing health systems in Western Pennsylvania, according to The Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania's 2026 Donate Life Pennsylvania Hospital Challenge.
All five participating hospitals, including Butler Memorial, Clarion, Frick, Latrobe and Westmoreland, also achieved Titanium status — the challenge’s highest level of recognition. A total of 10 AHN hospitals were recognized through the challenge with titanium or platinum designations, including AHN’s Allegheny General Hospital.
The annual campaign encourages Pennsylvania hospitals to increase organ, eye and tissue donation awareness within their hospitals and communities.
