A Lyndora woman who allegedly has an immunodeficiency disorder is accused of an assault at Butler Memorial Hospital where she broke a nurse’s skin.

Nicole Noel McCabe, 42, was charged Tuesday, Aug. 18, with felony aggravated assault and misdemeanor simple assault following an incident in which Butler Township police responded to a reported fight between a patient and staff member at the hospital.

Police said a nurse was attempting to get McCabe’s vitals when she reportedly became violent and scratched a nurse, breaking the skin.

When being transported by police, McCabe allegedly told police she had and immunodeficiency disorder and hoped other people contracted it.

McCabe is being held in Butler County Prison on a $10,000 bail. Her preliminary hearing is scheduled for 9:45 a.m. Thursday before District Judge Kevin O’Donnell.
