PITTSBURGH

PITTSBURGH — A former federal bankruptcy judge has been appointed to try and resolve the financial problems of Pittsburgh’s August Wilson Center for African American Culture.

An Allegheny County judge on Monday appointed Judith Fitzgerald to work with the center’s board. She will have final say over the center’s operations.

The appointment was approved with the consent of the state, the center and Dollar Bank, which began foreclosure proceedings in September.
