14 killed, 200-plus wounded in Lebanon blast
BEIRUT — Lebanon’s state-run news agency says 14 people have been killed and more than 200 wounded in a car bomb explosion that ripped through a stronghold of the militant Hezbollah group in a southern suburb of the capital Beirut.
Today’s explosion triggered raging fires in cars and buildings, trapping dozens of people in a residential and commercial neighborhood.
It is the second such explosion in little more than a month. In July, a powerful car bomb exploded in a neighboring suburb, wounding more than 50 people.
