Well I agree with 1/2 of your post. I have 2 degrees, I don't need another. I do bang my head against the wall when I have a deadline and have to work 60 hrs in one week - in July when my neighbor, who is a teacher, is sitting in her backyard with an iced tea. Or on a week like this when it takes 3 hours to get to and from work when it normally takes 2, then I have to put in a full days work and teachers have a 2 hour delay, but still get off at their regular time.
I agree and I've said before that our society has changed and not for the better. People think mostly about themselves and divorced people outnumber married people. I also agree with Kathy about how lobbyists run the government, but every time a teacher contract runs out and they strike, most people will agree with me. The kids are the ones who suffer.
Do you haul in hay? (I used to but that's beside the point.) Why do schools close during the summer? Why should they? What about all those delays? Shouldn't students have to make up that time? 8 hours of instruction in 1 week is quite a lot to miss, don't you think?
