Elvina I. Snyder Kovac
Elvina I. Snyder Kovac, 92, formerly of Warrendale, Cranberry Township and Manchester, died peacefully Friday evening at home surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Pittsburgh, July 1, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Ethel Ayers Snyder.
Mrs. Kovac was a longtime employee and retiree of the Kaufmann's department stores, downtown and McKnight.
She had been a member of the Perry Highway Lutheran Church in Wexford and was a member of the Red Hat Society of Cranberry Township.
She enjoyed visiting children in many parts of the United States and enjoyed sharing activities with family and friends.
Surviving are six sons and their wives, Donald and Shirley Kovac of Sun Lakes, Ariz., Kenneth and Jeri Kovac of Surprise, Ariz., William and Gretchen Kovac of Winter Haven, Fla., Wayne and Sharon Kovac of Mars, Lee and Susan Kovac of Valencia and Glenn and Ginney Kovac of Wexford. Also surviving are 18 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Ray, whom she married Nov. 24, 1939, and who died in 1985; her son, Mark D. Kovac; and her brothers, George Roland and William Snyder.

Snyder Kovac, who died Friday, March 6, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the <B>McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home Inc.</B>, 238 Crowe Ave. Mars. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with Father James Murphy, pastor of St. Fidelis Church, officiating.
