Norma Barger
Norma R. Barger, of Butler, went home to her Heavenly Father on Monday, Aug. 17, 2026.
Preceding her in death was her beloved husband, William Barger, on July 8, 2024, from COVID-19.
She was born Dec. 23, 1939, in Pittsburgh, daughter of the late Gordon and Alma Stewart.
Norma grew up in Glenshaw with six siblings. As a former member of Nixon Methodist Church and a Christian, “her most cherished commitment” was being a prayer partner for Cornerstone Television for 25 years.
Some of her defining attributes were joy, kindness and loving others. She volunteered as a friendly visitor for Area Agency for the Aging and at Butler Memorial Hospital. She was also a member of Saxonburg District Woman’s Club.
Norma worked as a floral designer, enjoyed painting, sewing, upholstering, wedding decorating, Christmas decorating and landscape design. Christmas was her favorite time of the year! She enjoyed card club with DEAR friends and years of game nights at her home, also with many dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her dear husband, William J. Barger; a daughter, Luanne Kobet; her grandson, Christopher Wright; one brother, Robert J. Stewart; and her sisters, Betty Mueller, Vi Lardin, Fran DeWitt and Carol Mason.
She leaves behind two daughters, Linda (David) Wright and Suzanne (A.J.) Pagano; her sister, Joanne Noechel; six grandchildren, Kathy Wright, Orion Kobet, Jaimi Bowser, Danille Jager, Michael Wright and Brandon Flick; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Norma is also survived by her stepchildren, Kenneth and Sheila Gordon, Carol Hawk, Pam Barnhart, Ron and Cindy Barger and Scott Barger.
