Butler Man Accused Of Attacking Police
Brian Sharpe, 20, was shocked by police on Dec. 24 after apparently breaking into a home on the 200 block of South Church Street, according to a news release by Butler Police Chief Bob O'Neill.
Police report that Sharpe “was irate and screaming” when they arrived to investigate a reported trespassing. Police found him outside the residence.
“He attacked the officer on site,” the news release stated.
Police used a Taser to shock Sharpe, and then arrested him. He faces charges of aggravated assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, criminal trespassing and criminal mischief.
Police did not name the involved officer who was attacked or detail the nature of the attack, but the officer suffered only minor injuries and returned to work.
