Wayne L. "Stoney" Stone Jr., 76, of New Galilee, formerly of New Brighton, passed away Monday in The Medical Center, Beaver.

Born Feb. 2, 1933, in Beaver Falls, a son of the late Wayne L. Stone Sr. and Minnie (Reeder) Stone, he was a retired foreman from the Babcock & Wilcox Co.

He was a member of the Parian Lodge 662 F&AM, Beaver Falls; a lifetime member of the Daugherty Township Volunteer Fire Department for 47 years; and a member of the Elks in Cranberry Township.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Dean Stone Sr.; and a sister, Vivian Hornicek.

Surviving are his first wife, Thelma; a son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Darlene Stone of New Brighton; two daughters, Sylvia Christine Stone and Amy Stone, both of New Brighton; a sister, Shirley Walters of Salt Lake City, Utah; 11 grandchildren, Jon, Eric, James and wife, Sara, Melissa, Christopher and wife, Melissa, Bradley and wife, Jeanette, Justin and wife, Ashley, Corey, Destiny, David and Dean Jr.; numerous great-grandchildren; his second wife, Katherine; and stepchildren, Christine, Robert, Wesley and Audra.

"Stoney" Stone Jr., who died Monday, April 13, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today and Friday in the <B>LUTTON BEAVER FALLS FUNERAL HOME</B>, 1117 Fifth Ave., Beaver Falls, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Eugene DeMarco officiating.
