LEBANON — More than two dozen animals were rescued from a homeless veteran’s car after she checked herself into a Pennsylvania VA hospital.

Humane Society of Lebanon County spokeswoman Suzanne Biever said Monday the veteran had been living with the animals in her car since January.

The 24 cats and three dogs, two cocker spaniels and a Chihuahua-mix, were transported to the Humane Society shelter.
