MCKEESPORT — The Allegheny County District Attorney says a deadly fire that claimed a young girl near Pittsburgh appears to have been started by a 5-year-old boy.

District Attorney Stephen A. Zappala Jr. says the investigation into the Sunday McKeesport fire found the girl’s cousin intentionally started it.

Zappala says the boy is being evaluated by Children, Youth and Families, who may start court proceedings to remove him from his family because he has a history of starting fires.

The fire also burned houses on either side of that structure.
