Armstrong Utilities

Last month, my husband accidentally paid our Verizon bill - over $200 to Armstrong Utilities through our banks online bill payment service - we only owed Armstrong $39.99. Verizon was very accommodating and waived the late fee. Bev, the so called supervisor at Armstrong, refuses to give us our $175 overpayment back unless we get a letter from the online bank on bank letterhead stating that the payment didn't bounce. This makes absolutely no sense. When I call Armstrong and check my balance, I have a credit of $175.00. This happened 2 weeks ago, it's not going to bounce now. USAA says it is against their policy to write a letter to a third party with account numbers on it, so we are SOL.

We have been customers of Armstrong Utilities for more than 10 years and in all that time have never paid a late bill, yet they value us so much, that they refuse to send back our money - 5 months worth of payments.

Verizon was the one that was paid late, not Armstrong. Verizon recognizes that people make mistakes and waived their late fee. Armstrong is so selfish and greedy that they refuse to give back OUR money. They have a monopoly and they know it so they apparently can treat people like crap.

Sorry for the rant, but this just makes me mad - and I want everyone to know what kind of people work at Armstrong Utilities!
