A local law enforcement official was recognized Monday night for 20 years of service.

Zelienople Police Chief Jim Miller began his tenure on May 5, 1997 and has no plans on slowing down.

"It's a really nice place to work," he said. "It (20 years) has really gone by fast."

Miller was given a service award by borough council Monday evening.

"He has been excellent for the borough," said council President Allen Bayer (pictured right).

Miller previously served as police chief for the Tyrone Police Department in Blair County and corporal at Northern Regional Police Department in Wexford.
