J. Marlene Edwards, 91, of Mars, died Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2026, at St. John Specialty Care Center.

Born in Mars on June 21, 1935, she was the daughter of Nelson L. and Cleola McCandless McDonald.

She was employed at Mars Bank.

She was also a member of Mars United Presbyterian Church, Woman’s Club of Mars, Mars American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and SilverSneakers at Penn Mar Plaza.

Surviving are her two daughters, LuAnn Housekeeper and her husband, Ray, of Bruin, and Kelly Frank, of Lilburn, Ga.; a son, Craig Edwards and his wife, Diane, of Valencia; nine grandchildren, Chris Bastian, Amy Muisiner, Stori Caudill, Kip Edwards, Whitney Kunzler, Shanna Rock, Nick Frank, Karsyn Frank and Cooper Frank; and also 20 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Norman “Pete” Edwards; her brother, Gwendell F. “Corky” McDonald; and her grandson, M. Shane Bastian.

EDWARDS — Friends of J. Marlene Edwards, who died Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2026, will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 16, at MCDONALD-AEBERLI FUNERAL HOME, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars. A service will follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Brian Hauser officiating.

Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Gardens, Cheswick, Pa.
