Standard Bent Glass receives state funding to cut energy costs
A Butler County manufacturer is one of 15 small businesses across Pennsylvania to receive grant money from the Department of Environmental Protection, to help cut energy costs, improve energy efficiency and reduce air pollution.
Standard Bent Glass, of East Butler, was the only Butler County business to receive a portion of the $3.5 million given out.
It received $347,490 to replace two existing kilns with a new kiln that enables parallel processing, improved heating efficiency and significantly shorter production cycles.
According to the Department of Environmental Protection, it estimates Standard Bent Glass will see $39,264 in annual energy savings.
Grants were made possible through the Reducing Industrial Sector Emissions in Pennsylvania, or RISE PA, Small-scale Award Track.
