Butler Middle School students are learning about ecological cycles while raising channel catfish and rainbow trout in a small-scale fishery at their school for the Pennsylvania Department of Fish and Wildlife. Fish waste is harvested as manure for a hydroponic garden in which students grow herbs and fruits to eat.
