Chojnacki leads SRU women to wins
Amanda Chojnacki scored 17 points and managed six rebounds to lead the Slippery Rock University women's basketball team to a 63-55 victory over Mansfield Sunday afternoon at Morrow Field House.
Angela Greaser added 13 points for the Rock (5-3), which scored 40 second half points after just 23 in the first half.
The win was the second in two days for SRU, which also defeated East Stroudsburg 59-40 on Saturday.
Chojnacki led that win as well, with 12 points and seven boards and KellyAnn Staudinger offered 10 points.
The Rock defense limited East Stroudsburg to just 31 percent from the field (16-of-51).
Despite 16 points from both Matt Hale and Jamar Scales, the Slippery Rock University men's basketball team dropped a 74-71 decision to Mansfield Sunday afternoon.The Rock (1-4), which held a 20-11 lead midway through the first half, also received 11 points from Erroll Robinson and 10 from Matt Schaefer.SRU also met with defeat against East Stroudsburg Saturday by a count of 74-68.The Rock received double digits in points from four players — Joe Vines (15), Scales (13), Hale (12) and Dejan Jancic (10) — but a 55-43 deficit in rebounding helped doom SRU.
