INDIANA — A jury has found a woman guilty of involuntary manslaughter and other charges in the death of her 13-month-old son, who drowned while he was bathing unattended with two toddler siblings.
Tonya Thomas, 27, of White Township in Indiana County was found guilty Wednesday. Prosecutors say in February 2013 she left Ryden Thomas Jr. and his 2- and 3-year-old siblings unattended in the tub and later found him face-down in the water.
The boy’s father, Wesley Thomas, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor child endangerment and was sentenced to three months to two years in prison.
