Vanaja Samuel, 80, of Butler, passed away Thursday, July 30, 2026.

She was born on July 5, 1946, in India, daughter of the late Muthia Amirtharaj and Lizzie (Kesari) Amirtharaj.

Vanaja enjoyed singing, going to church and spending time with family.

She is survived by her son, Dhinesh (Yogi) Samuel; grandchildren, Zephan and Zuriel Samuel; and sisters, Vimala, Vigi, Vani, Shobha and Vahee.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ravidhas Samuel; and son, Suresh Samuel.

SAMUEL — A visitation for Vanaja Samuel, who died Thursday, July 30, 2026, will be held from noon to 1 p.m., with a funeral service immediately following at 1 p.m., on Tuesday, Aug. 11, at Community Alliance Church, 800 Mercer Road, Butler, with the Rev. Dave Fetherlin officiating.

A private burial will be held at North Side Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Concordia Lutheran Ministries, at concordialm.org.

Arrangements have been entrusted to THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, Butler.
