Wilma Bornais
Wilma J. Smith Bornais, 88, of Zelienople, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Friday, Aug. 7, 2026.
Born May 1, 1938, in Kingston, Pa., she was the daughter of the late William and Sarah Ann (Wagner) Clark.
Wilma graduated from Kingston High School in 1956. She married Malen Smith on May 17, 1958. Wilma cared for her home, and her children, for most of her life. She was an administrative assistant for Homison Chiropractic, Highway Equipment Company, and finished her career at Zeigler Roofing and Heating Company.
Wilma was a faithful member of Dutilh United Methodist Church for over 50 years. She was active in the United Methodist Women’s Group, served as a chairperson for the worship committee, and was a member of both the trustees and the administrative board. Wilma was a member of the cookbook committee, which sold copies filled with recipes from church members, to raise money for the church. She also spent many hours working on the church’s annual flea market. Wilma was a member of many Bible study groups during her membership at Dutilh. She made many cherished friends at Dutilh.
Wilma is survived by her two daughters, Sherri Schubert (David) and Jill Kelley (Walter); two beloved nephews, Clark Bornais (Amanda) and Matthew Bornais (Amy); her grandchildren, Rebecca Atwood (Rob), Phillip Kelley (Krista), Adam Kelley (April), Ryan Kelley (Bethany), John Ierino, and Sarah Becker (Cole), Phillip and Joshua Bornais.
She is also survived by and delighted in her great-grandchildren, Jillian Atwood, Emersyn Kelley, Autumn Kelley, Alaina Kelley, Adam Joshua “A.J.” Kelley Jr., Kendall Kelley, Jaxx Ierino, and the eighth great-grandchild arriving in September; Beth Ann McElhinny, who was like a daughter to her; and several cherished cousins and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Judith Bornais; her first husband and father of her children, Malen Smith; and her second husband, Ronald Bornais.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Passavant Retirement Community for their wonderful care of Wilma.
BORNAIS — Family and friends of Wilma J. Smith Bornais, who died Friday, Aug. 7, 2026, will be received from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12, at Dutilh United Methodist Church, 1270 Dutilh Road, Cranberry Township, PA 16066.
Wilma will be laid to rest at the Dutilh Church Cemetery.
Memorial donations in Wilma’s honor may be given to Dutilh United Methodist Church, at the above address, or to Passavant Retirement Community, 105 Burgess Drive, Zelienople, PA 16063.
