Jerry Lester Klingensmith, 87, of Butler, formerly of Ford City, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2026, while under the care of Butler VA Hospital.

Born Dec. 22, 1938, in Kittanning, he was the son of the late James Allison and Lillian Mae (Leister) Klingensmith.

Jerry was a member of the VFW and the American Legion in Lyndora. He enjoyed car shows and was a member of the Rodfathers car club. He often was seen riding his bike and motorcycle. He also enjoyed sharing his skills with others. Jerry also liked to travel, especially camping and RVing and going on family trips. Above all, Jerry loved spending time with his family.

Jerry leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Sandra Klingensmith; his children, Barbara (Mark), Lester (Judith) and Kevin (Danette); his 12 grandchildren; his 12 great-grandchildren; his many great-great-grandchildren; and his sister, Nancy.

In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his children, James and Trisha; his granddaughter, Randi Lynn; and his brother-in-law, Larry.

KLINGENSMITH — Family and friends of Jerry Lester Klingensmith, who died Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2026, were received Sunday, Aug. 9, at BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTER, 856 Evans City Road, Renfrew.

A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 10, at the funeral home, with Pastor Reid Moon officiating.

Jerry will be laid to rest at Lawn Haven Burial Estates.
