Ok, Laura, I'll trade you! I am a software engineer. I have 2 degrees. When I have a deadline, I have to work upwards of 60 hours a week - deadline has the word dead in it for a reason. I do not get free or cheap healthcare that you insist upon, and when I retire, I get NO healthcare benefits. I get paid well, but it's really not much more than the tenured teachers make. I knew the advantages and I knew the disadvantages, and I chose this profession, just like you chose yours. I also have to worry about my job being moved to India, how about you? Do you go to bed at night worrying about that? Boo hoo, you have to take a class every now and again - so does every professional that wants to remain relevant in their field. Take a look and compare your benefits to the corporate world - and quit whining. Two years is long enough. We're all sick of it.
