The Butler YMCA will give away backpacks filled with school supplies Wednesday, Aug. 20.

The annual Back-to-School Backpack & School Supply Giveaway takes place from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Butler YMCA, 339 N. Washington St., Butler. The organization is accepting donations of backpacks and school supplies through Aug. 15.

For the past nine years, the Butler YMCA has joined with its members and community partners to help students start the school year prepared for success. Each child who attends the giveaway will receive one backpack or school supply bundle while supplies last. Students must be present, and the giveaway is open to the entire community, according to the YMCA.
