Freshman quarterback Andrew DiDonato completed 10 of 22 passes for 100 yards and two touchdowns and ran for a score with 2:42 left in the game to lift the Grove City College football team to a 21-20 win over Westminster College on Saturday.

It's the Wolverines first victory over Westminster since 1979.

DiDonato's two scoring throws were for two yards to Jay Yanak late in the second quarter and from eight yards out to Matt Weaver early in the fourth quarter to put Grove City up 14-7.

Weaver ended the game with six catches for 75 yards, tallying 164 all-purpose yards in the win.

Junior tailback Matt Weil led Grove City with 70 rushing yards on 19 attempts.

The Wolverines (1-2, 1-3) will continue their Presidents' Athletic Conference slate next Saturday at Bethany College.

Women's Volleyball

Slippery Rock University took three of four matchups Saturday at the Shippensburg Tournament.

The Rock defeated Anderson (S.C.) 3-1, Virginia Union 3-0 and Ohio Valley (W. Va.) 3-0. The team's lone defeat came against West Virginia State in a hard-fought, 3-2 decision.

Anastasia Urbanik tallied 63 kills in the four matches, Sara Kirsch had 174 assists and 11 service aces for SRU (19-4).

Men's Soccer

Jeremy Deighton's three goals powered Slippery Rock University to a 4-3 triumph over PSAC rival Shippensburg.

Chris Graham scored The Rock's other goal while Patrick Cormac, David Flamer and Jeff Hamley contributed assists.

SRU (7-4, 7-6) received five stops from goalkeeper Brandon McQuillen.

Women's Soccer

Despite outshooting Shippensburg 13-1 in the second half, Slippery Rock University was held scoreless in a 1-0 defeat to the Red Raiders.

SRU goalkeeper Jen McCormick made three saves.

Women's Tennis

Kayla Blackburn recorded two 6-0, 6-0 wins Saturday to help Slippery Rock University to a 7-2 win over Holy Family and a 5-1 victory over Georgian Court.

Blackburn paired with doubles partner Laura Handy in winning both matches by a score of 8-1.

Handy recorded a 6-0, 6-0 win vs. Georgian Court.

The wins improve SRU's record to 5-1.

Women's Field Hockey

Michelle Mumma's goal off an assist from Ashley Stoner was Slippery Rock University's lone score in a 5-1 defeat to Millersville.
