Zelienople is hosting its first Creative Crawl from Friday to Sunday, Aug. 7 to 9.

A collaboration between four of the borough’s art studios, it offers time to relax and create for all those who buy tickets and to experience Zelienople’s art scene.

Tickets are $225, with a $6 service fee, and are in limited supply.

A ticket covers four creative projects, one at each participating studio, a custom tote bag, a swag bag with discounts and gifts from local businesses, and access to deals at restaurants, breweries and shops during the weekend.

The Creative Crawl features CURIO Art Studio, Zelie Candle Bar, Spring Street Studios and Woods Lane & Co., each with a different craft project specific to that store.

For example, CURIO is offering participants a sunshine planter pot piece, made and fired in the studio.

CURIO studio attendant Amelia Collins said she thinks that it will introduce an older audience to the studio, as the studio typically hosts family events and frequently welcomes children.

The Creative Crawl also invites participants to try the local food, drink and dessert scene in Zelienople, recommending a list of more than 15 different local eateries, breweries and wineries, and 13 different shopping centers. The list includes Cafe Verde, Shubrew, Munching Moose, Boutique Blue, OOMA Boutique, Urban Vine and more.

The Creative Crawl has been in the works for the last couple of years, but this year, Wood Lane & Co. owner Anna Ezzolo made it a reality.

The four female business owners — who typically operate in competition with each other — have become good friends, relying on each other for advice and creating a support system by planning the event, Fortunato said.

Our planning meetings look like “an hour of business, two hours just hanging out,” Fortunato said.

While other Zelienople events encourage participants to get up and explore, this gives participants the chance to slow down and take in the scenes of Main Street at their own pace.

“Whether you’re crafting, painting, or pouring candles, each stop promises a unique, memorable experience that celebrates the spirit of local art and community,” according to the Creative Crawl’s website.

“Four destinations, three days to come and make,” Fortunato said.
