Thelma M. Foust, 80, of Sarver, formerly of Chicora, passed away peacefully at home in the company of her loving family early Saturday morning, Aug. 1, 2026.

Thelma was born in Butler on Feb. 16, 1946. She was the daughter of the late Edward C. and Anna M. Benson Waltman.

She owned and operated Thelma Foust Beauty Salon in Butler for more than 20 years. Thelma was a devoted homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt. She was a longtime member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in the village of North Oakland and was a member and former president of the church’s Christian Mothers. Thelma had most recently been a member of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church in Freeport. She enjoyed spending time at camp in East Brady and boating on the Allegheny River, the company of her grandchildren, always looking forward to attending their activities and sporting events, spending winters in Florida, shopping, cooking and entertaining, especially family gatherings on Christmas Eve.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Dennis M. “Denny” Foust. Mr. Foust passed away Nov. 13, 2023.

Surviving are two daughters, Kris Ann McNabb and her husband, Ron “Mack,” of Lower Burrell, and Lory L. Ellenberger and her husband, Brad, of Wattersonville; her five grandchildren, to whom she was affectionately “MaMa,” Dylan Grazier and his wife, Katie, of Warrenton, Va., Austyn Hartung and her husband, Noah, of Sarver, Aubrey Quigley and her husband, Jason, of Sarver, Brady Ellenberger and his wife, Dana, of East Brady, Bryce Ellenberger and his wife, Celeste, of Kittanning; seven great-grandsons, Tanner and Heath Hartung, Jackson and Rylan Grazier, Waylon Ellenberger and Braxton Ellenberger, and Karson Quigley. Thelma was looking forward to her eighth great-grandson soon. Also surviving is her sister, Edna Barger, of East Brady; two brothers-in-law, Clarence F. “Sonny” Schiebel and Gerry Robinson; as well as a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Lois Williams and Ruth S. “Ruthy” Schiebel; two brothers-in-law, Henry Williams and Nelson Barger; and a sister-in-law, Dixie Robinson.

FOUST — Friends of Thelma M. Foust, who died Saturday, Aug. 1, 2026, will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, at HILE FUNERAL HOME OF CHICORA, 339 Chicora Fenelton Road, Chicora.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in the village of North Oakland.

Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, North Oakland.
