Transit authority OKs software buy
The Butler Transit Authority on Tuesday approved a contract to buy management software using $377,461 in state money.
Authority board members unanimously voted to purchase the software package from Avail Technologies Inc.
The money to buy the software is coming from the state Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security funding dedicated for public transit, said John Paul, authority executive director.
He said the package includes software suites for procurement, payroll, human resources and customer service.
In other business, Paul said the authority will advertise in early November for bids for construction of a park and ride as well as a waiting area at the authority’s office and bus garage in the Pullman Center Business Park. Work is expected to begin in the spring, he said.
