EDINBORO — Authorities say a state university student has been arrested in the shooting death of a former student outside an off-campus apartment complex.

Trey Gunter, 21, was arraigned Tuesday afternoon in Monday night’s shooting death of Tobiah Johnson, 22, near Edinboro University of Pennsylvania.

The school was locked down for about four hours after the shooting, which authorities allege followed a dispute over a stolen gun.

About 2,000 students live on the Edinboro campus, about 20 miles south of Erie. The university was hosting a basketball game when the lockdown was ordered.

Gunter was ordered held without bail pending a Dec. 2 preliminary hearing.
