Doris Knox

Doris M. Knox, 99, of Butler, passed away on Friday, June 11, 2021, at her family home.

She was born Feb. 25, 1922, in Butler, and was the daughter of the late Raymond Breth and the late Florence Paul Breth.

Doris attended Faith Fellowship Alliance Church in Butler. She worked as a registered nurse for the state, Butler Memorial Hospital, and Visiting Nurses Association as a supervisor of nursing, retiring in 1984. Doris enjoyed gardening, reading, cooking, and baking.

Doris is survived by one son, Jonathan Lee Knox of Butler; one daughter, Linda Diane (Mark) Echard of Seymour, Ind.; one brother, Roland (Norie) Breth of Butler; one sister, Rhea Jean Zold of Oakmont.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Leroy Knox, whom she married on Sept. 1, 1949, and who passed away on Feb. 13, 2011; and one sister, Audrey Gatty.

Knox — Friends of Doris M. Knox, who died Friday, June 11, 2021, will be received from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Faith Fellowship Alliance Church, 200 Faithway-Fared Dr., Butler, with a funeral service to immediately follow at 3 p.m. with Rev. Richard Jenks, officiating.

Burial will take place in the Rose Hill Cemetery.
