Rare Bill of Rights copy shown

PHILADELPHIA — The National Constitution Center is putting a rare, original copy of the Bill of Rights on display.

The piece is one of a dozen surviving copies President George Washington sent to the states in 1789.

It also features a first edition stone engraving of the Declaration of Independence and the first public printing of the U.S. Constitution.

The document will be at the Constitution Center until 2017. The center is dedicated to increasing public understanding of the Constitution and the ideas and values it represents.
