Pennsylvania American Water is set to begin rehabilitation of its 250,000-gallon elevated water storage tank located at Saxonburg Borough’s municipal building.

The upgrades are part of the company’s $17.8 million statewide storage tank improvement plan.

The Saxonburg project will cost $416,300. It involves abrasive blasting and recoating of the interior and exterior of the tank, as well as a structural support evaluation and rehabilitation.

Work will start the week of Aug. 3 and run between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., Monday through Saturday. An October completion date is expected.
