Nineteen demonstrators were taken away by police in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh after marchers blocked streets while advocating for higher wages for fast-food restaurants.

Police arrested 11 in Philadelphia in Thursday's protest that was part of a national campaign advocating $15-an-hour wage and right to unionize.

Eight were arrested in Pittsburgh. Nearly 200 protesters marched up Penn Avenue and stopped outside a McDonald's and chanted “hold your burgers, hold your fries, make my wages supersized.”
