Lutherlyn Saturday Safaris designed for families, individuals and groups will have a program on Geology of Butler County from 9:30 a.m. to noon Saturday at Camp Lutherlyn, 500 Lutherlyn Lane. An adult must be responsible for all children. Registration is necessary. Cost is $5 per person; children age 4 and younger are admitted free. The fee includes snacks and beverages. Jennings Environmental Education Center will be the site of "Western Pennsylvania and the Fur Trade" at 2 p.m. Sunday. Speaker will be Chris Kubiak from the Fort Pitt Museum. Snowman in the Forest Day will be conducted Saturday along the National Wild & Scenic Clarion River within Cook Forest State Park, Cooksburg. Various activities will be held at the ice skating pond, along River Road about 1-mile upriver from the park office, including antlered reindeer pulled wagon rides from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and a snowshoe interpretive hike within the old growth forest along Cook Trail from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. and 1 to 2: 15 p.m. Participants can enjoy ice skating, sled riding and a snowman building contest, depending on the snowfall. Guests can also sample the chili during the "Free Chili Cook-Off" after the judges have tried some first. Hot chocolate, coffee, a fire and a warming hut will be available. Call 814-744-8475.
